Perhaps in response to recent marketing efforts by Costa Coffee, Starbucks is now offering free Wi-Fi to UK customers who have signed up for their Starbucks Reward loyalty program. Reward customers already received little extras, such as soy milk or specialty syrup in their coffee at no extra charge. You know that the first details broke of the Microsoft-backed phones earlier this week. Today you get to see the real things! What you get is the Moto/Palm styled ‘Turtle’ and the ‘Pure’ is the one that appears to share heritage with the Google G1. As already stated both handsets will be made by Sharp who, incedentally, also make the hardware for the Sidekick handset. The pics seem to be the only new news apart from the candybar Pure has a slidey out keypad and the fact that these phones seem to have a focus on the ‘youth’ market (more Sidekick leanings) and there’s whispers of a related app store and that Zune functionality. We hear today that the HTC HD2 is launching on October 12th. The HD2 was previously known as the HTC Leo and is a smartphone running the Windows Phone operating system (Windows Mobile 6.5). The HTC HD2 has a 4.3 inch capacitive touchscreen that runs at a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. The HD2 will run the TouchFlo 3D navigation overlay. The information comes from someone who tipped Engadget saying that the O2 intranet site lists the HTC HD2 as having a release date of October 12th. Yesterday we saw the new Microsoft Courier Tablet, today Gizmodo has another exclusive, two new smartphones from Microsoft (MSFT), the Microsoft Turtle and Microsoft Pure. Microsoft’s new smartphones are made by sharp, and look quite similar to the Sidekick for Danger, which was bought my Microsoft a couple of years ago. The new phones from Microsoft may include Zune services, and have their own app store, much like the iPhone and the Palm Pre, unfortunately there are no details on specifications as yet, or when we might see them in the store.
