Wii jOG - Cardio or ASBO? via Poker, Pique and Parenthood July 15th, 2008 at 23:05

There I was gleefully filling my virtual trolley on Play.com with peripherals and games. Extra nunchuk for controller 2, memory card, games, when I stumbled across something new.I've already got a Wii Fit on order for K as a belated birthday present - eta God only knows - so I'm well aware of the supply issues with Wii gadgets. Thus I was immediately drawn to the Wii jOG - a new device which, according to Play.com, isn't due out until the pre-Christmas period.A quick Google threw up a couple of videos from a UK based company - New Concept Gaming - demonstrating the device in action.Basically it seems to be a pedometer which hooks up to the system and means the player can drive their character's motion by running on the spot - taking interactivity to a new level. The video explains better...

Wii Fit via Zath! May 13th, 2008 at 22:21

image Once again, another master stroke from Nintendo. Just when you thought the Wii couldn’t get any better, they come up with Wii Fit. When the Wii was first announced with the Wii Remote, a lot of people were sceptical about how good the Wii Remote would actually be. The same thoughts applied with the Wii Balance Board. It’s technological brilliance! I unboxed my copy and got myself ready for a good workout. When you first start up, you get to find out what your BMI (body mass index) is, and if you’re the ‘ideal’ weight or if you’re overweight. I was just in the ‘ideal’ weight category (he says smugly). After you’ve found out your BMI, you do a couple of balance tests to find out your Fitness Age. Wii Fit says that the ideal BMI is 22, so should you be over, like myself,...

In The Land Where The Cheggers Dwell via The Richard Madeley Appreciation Society February 14th, 2008 at 16:23

The adjustments I've been making to my sleeping pattern have left me suffering terrible bouts of narcolepsy. As soon as I stop moving, my eyes close and I'm asleep. And little do I care where I land. Since I started to get up earlier in the day, I've been found sleeping behind the sofa, in the laundry closet, and nestled at the back of Judy's clothes cupboard. As I move on with my plan of getting up an hour earlier each morning, the narcolepsy seems to be getting worse.'I think you should go back to bed,' said Judy at eight o'clock this morning. I'd just fallen face first into a bowl of cornflakes and only the years Judy spent as a life-guard saved me from the milk I'd sucked into my lungs.'No, no,' I replied, 'I'll be quite fine. I can't feel as tired as this all day. I just need a...
