N-Trig isn't a well known company although you might have heard of the Microsoft [MSFT] Surface computer which uses these particular screens. We now hear that the same company, N-Trig, will also be providing screens for the upcoming HTC Tablet devices. The screen for the HTC Tablet will of course be multi-touch.The HTC Tablet is expected to be the Google Tablet much like the Nexus One was built for Google [GOOG] by HTC. The tablet is expected to run the new Chrome OS.The official name of the Google Tablet isn't known just yet although some are calling it the gPad which we guess is in reference to the Apple iPad.As for release dates, it is expected that the gPad will launch in November to be ready for Christmas.Via: CrunchGearHTC Tablet to use N-Trig Screen Check out our infrequently...

After a few false starts it looks almost assured now that the dawn of the tablet generation is just about upon us. Major manufacturers are turning to tablet devices as the new “must have” gadget for next summer – Apple and Kindle may have shown the way, and JooJoo is causing a minor wave, but others are catching up (and on) fast.
The technology rumour and whisper mill is going into over drive – a recent report from DigiTimes Systems told us “Toshiba will launch its first tablet PC model featuring Nvidia’s Tegra 2 processor, Android operating system and a 10-inch screen in September-October 2010…”, which probably followed their experiments with the JournE tablet at the back end of last year, whilst PCWorld reported that Lenovo are planning their own tabled, dubbed...

Yesterday, HP had an earnings call in which they discussed the companies financial details for the last quarter. For some, that's not particularly interesting. However, in that call someone asked about the arrival of a tablet from HP.The actual question asked was more in line with the launch of the iPad and it's effect on sales of netbooks. The response basically said a webOS based product was being launched early in 2011.No official name was provided although Pre Central puts it's bets on the PalmPad. We'll keep an eye again on this one as it's been a long road with the initial announcement at the start of this year of the HP Slate, then a webOS tablet then an Android tablet, back to a Windows Tablet and now a webOS tablet again. We lose track!HP webOS Tablet Release Date –...

Its not just Android tablets that Google wants to get out there in the markets and compete with all the other tablets available. The latest rumor shows that Google’s Chrome OS tablet is being built by HTC and that it will be available for purchase via Verizon on November 26th.
It looks like Chrome OS tablet would be a decent competitor to the iPad and from what we have heard, it will be a lot cheaper than the iPad. In fact, the Chrome OS tablet might even be free but it will come with Verizon’s data contract.
As for the hardware specifications Chrome OS tablet will use NVIDIA Tegra 2 platform and it will come with 1280 x 720 pixel multi-touch display. Besides that, this tablet will use 2GB of RAM which will be more than enough to run all your applications with...

Research In Motion (RIM) seems to be trying hard to make its upcoming (and yet to be announced) tablet different from the iPad.
Even if everything’s on the hush-hush, someone still managed to leak that the smartphone will be relying on its recently acquired QNX Software Systems to develop the operating system for this tablet. It’s even been whispered that the new tablet will be named BlackPad, as evidenced from RIM’s registering of blackpad.com last month.
One of the downsides though is that this tablet will not be having its own cellular connection; instead, it will be connecting through the user’s mobile phone in case WiFi is in short supply.
It remains to be seen if this tablet will usher in a new era of productive tablet devices since the iPad has proven that...

Engadget are reporting that HP are going to launch their first tablet computer which will run webOS in the first Quarter of 2011, the tablet may well be called the PalmPad as we found out recently that HP had filed a trademark for ‘PalmPad’.
HP shelved their plans to launch a Windows 7 tablet after they purchased Palm, and they recently announced that they had put on hold their plans to release a tablet based on Google’s Android platform.
It seems that HP are putting all their efforts into developing a tablet based on webOS, and we can expect to see their first webOS based tablet early next year.
It will be interesting to see what the PalmPad is like, and what changes HP will have made to Palms......

We have heard quite a bit from various places about HP's plans for tablet based devices. It first started off early this year when the HP Slate was mentioned. The device was announced by Microsoft [MSFT] and was set to run a version of Windows 7.HP then purchased Palm and along with that was webOS. We then heard that the HP Slate was being scrapped in favour of a webOS tablet (possibly called the Hurricane). Android from Google [GOOG] was also mentioned along with plans for another Windows 7 Compact Edition tablet. The latest we now hear is related to a webOS based tablet from HP. According to Engadget, the webOS based tablet is being launched in the first quarter of 2011, or at least this is what all the staff at HP have been told.If HP were to make a tablet running webOS, it truly...

Some rumours going around today indicated that Motorola is launching a 10 inch tablet soon. The tablet will use Android for the operating system and have a 10 inch screen.Other features include Adobe Flash support (we assume that means the Motorola Tablet will run Android 2.2), along with two cameras (front and rear facing), mobile hotspot functionality and access to pay TV.The mobile hotspot features indicate that a cellular data connection will be built in to the device.Although these rumours are just to be taken with a pinch of salt, we do hear that the tablet could be launching in the fall of this year. Of course none of the companies involved with it have anything to say (Motorola, Verizon and Google). If a fall release date is possible, we suspect we'll hear something in the next...

According to the Financial Times, smartphone manufacturer Motorola is joining forces with mobile carrier Verizon to produce a tablet computer to take on Apple’s iPad.
The Motorola Verizon Tablet will run Google’s Android OS, and will feature a 10 inch touch screen display, and could launch as early as this autumn in the US.
The Motorola Verizon tablet is rumored to be thinner and lighter than the Apple iPad, and it will have support for Adobe’s Flash and will offer tethering, plus there will be a front facing camera for video chat and a camera on the back for taking photos.
The tablet will also use Verizon’s FiOS cable service to deliver pay for TV to the tablet. It certainly sounds very interesting, and if it comes with all the features that are rumored, it may be...

The Eee Pad (Yes that’s the tablet PC one, not the eReader), more specifically the EP101TC was originally planned by ASUS to run Windows Embedded Compact 7, however it has emerged today that the Taiwanese manufacturer are dropping the Microsoft OS in favour of the latest build of Google’s Android 2.2 platform, ‘Froyo’.
Now, whether or not that Android is a favourable OS for a tablet PC is an extremely hot topic at the moment, but suffice it to say, ASUS are sitting in favour of Google on this one and intend to show off the Android powered Eee Pad tablet at CES 2011, with it retailing shortly after.
The interesting point here is, Android 2.2 (Froyo) is only being dubbed as a prototype OS, and ASUS have refused to rule out the possibility that Android ‘Gingerbread’ may appear...

It looks like Lenovo is set to release their Android tablet, the LePad, which we have heard about previously before the end of the year, although we still don’t know any details about what sort of specifications the LePad tablet will have.
Lenovo showed off another device earlier in the year, the ideaPad U1 hybrid which was basically a laptop with a removable display that could be used as a tablet.
It is possible that the Lenovo LePad Android tablet could share similar specifications to the ideaPad U1, which include a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, and a 10 inch multi touch display.
As soon as e get some more information on what Lenovo have planned for the LePad Android tablet we will let you guys know.

Ever since HPO purchased Palm and announced that they would be investing heavily in Palm’s webOS, we knew that they would be producing a tablet computer based on webOS.
Now HP have filed for a trademark, which we expect they will use for their webOS tablet, the trademark is called ‘Palmpad’. HP has recently put on hold the Google Android tablet it was developing and also the Window 7 based one.
HP can obviously see great potential in using Palm’s webOS for a tablet, and with all the investment they are putting into webOS we can expect to see something pretty interesting.
We still have no idea when HP will launch the Palmpad webOS based tablet, and what sort of specifications it will have, as soon as we get some more information we will let you guys know.

HP has been working on a number of tablet devices for some time now, the first of these was a Windows 7 based tablet which HP decided to cancel, now it seems HP has shelved their plans to produce a tablet based on Google’s Android OS.
According to All Things Digital HP has decided to put their Android tablet on hold for now, although no official reason has been given.
We have heard previously that HP intends to make a tablet computer based on Palm’s webOS, after their recent acquisition of Palm HP said that they intended to invest heavily in webOS.
It makes sense for HP to concentrate their efforts on a webOS based tablet, rather than trying to produce a number of different tablets with different operating systems.

HP is rumoured to be releasing a few tablet computers although it's not exactly clear just yet which direction they are going. Earlier this year the HP Slate was announced where Microsoft [MSFT] showed the Slate running Windows 7. Shortly after that it appeared that the Windows version of the HP Slate was going to be scrapped due to HP buying Palm which included the rights to webOS. We then heard a HP webOS tablet would be launched as well as a HP Android Tablet. We now hear that the Android variant of the tablet has been shelved for now while it seems that HP are focusing on a HP webOS based tablet. So right now it seems like the only tablet HP are releasing is the one running webOS with the Windows 7 and Android tablets being pushed aside for now.Via: AllThingsD and GizmodoHP Android...

LG is currently working on a Windows 7 tablet, and now they have announced that they will also be producing a tablet computer based on Google’s Android OS.
The LG Android tablet will go on sale before the end of the year, no idea on exact date, they have just said Q4 2010, so it could be just before Christmas.
We have no details or specifications on the Android tablet from LG as yet, and no details on which version of Android it will run, although we suspect it will probably come with Android 2.2 (Froyo).
As soon as we get more information on what LG has planned for their Android tablet we will let you guys know.

Some of our readers will remember the JooJoo tablet, that went on sale a while back. Well it seems that someone thought it would be a good idea to install Windows 7 on the JooJoo.
Darkdavy from the JooJoo Forum decided to install Windows 7 on his JooJoo tablet, from the video below it looks like everything works pretty well on it, including the multi touch.
Maybe Fusion Garage should think about selling the JooJoo Tablet as a Windows 7 tablet, they may end up selling a few more that way.

Today we see all sorts of different tablets with each day, but have you ever seen a dual screen tablet? If you haven’t you should know that company named D8 is working on a first dual screen tablet.
While other manufacturers are trying to make smaller tablets, people from D8 are doing the opposite. If you think that one screen for tablet is enough wait to see what D8 has to offer. Apparently, people from D8 think that one screen is not enough for tablet so they’ve developed Kno tablet that uses two screens.
This tablet is huge and it uses two 14.1-inch displays that can provide 1440 x 900 pixel resolution each. Kno tablet weights 5.5 pounds and it is using NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 chip. As for the storage, this interesting device comes with 16GB storage that will be...
