I’m doing a workshop intro to social media for a client at the end of the month and they just sent me through a draft agenda - mine is just one in a series that they’re doing at a two-day staff event. On the agenda mine is entitled “Libraries gave us power” I had no idea what this was a reference to, so I asked and was told that they’d given all the workshops names from song lyrics (mine was apparently from the Manic Street Preachers or some similar popular beat combo - perhaps they think I’m Welsh?) Anyway they also asked if I had a lyric that I’d prefer and so, of course, rather than thinking it through for myself, I asked my outsourced brain, aka my twittermates, to come up with suggestions for me. This morning we had the first London Mornington Crescent on Twitter frenzy. If it's quiet on this blog of late, the partial explanation is twitter. It's kinda diverting the energy that usually goes into blogging. It is a temporary diversion as I've also got some big posts to get out too, but they might come slowly over the festive season. OK, so I got a new mic at last. The old clip-on one finally fell to pieces around Christmas when it got pulled in and out of my one-man-media-empire back once too often. I got round to popping into Maplin's yesterday and picked up this omni-directional stereo jobby which seems to work quite nicely thank you. Paul the Clanger comes out a bit nasal when he wears it like this, but I'm fortunate that I can clip it onto my shirt and only annoy you a little with the occasional wire knocking the mic or mobile phone going off.
