Cool Mods - The Putter Bot R/C Golf Robot Here’s another crazy creation from the guys over at Crabfu, the Putter Bot. The Putter Bot is a radio controlled golfer robot, it features a built in laser so you can line up your shot. PutterBot uses 2 standard size servos for the tracks, each with the potentiometer popped out, and servo taped to the top of the servo. This is an easy way to make the servos continuous, and you can adjust the trim with the potentiometer or with the radio. The tank chassis is a kit from Tamiya, and directly driven from the servo horns. Here’s a video of it in action. Fueled by interest in hard to find vinyl records, turntables are suddenly cool again according to the Consumer Electronics Association. Sales for turntables skyrocketed last quarter from 19,000 a month in 2007, to nearly twice as many a month as of April of this year. The increase stems from young people becoming interested in vinyl as an option to avoiding digital rights management as well as combing used record stores for deals on hard to find albums of classic bands they’ve come to enjoy. On the London Underground you'll see a number of people in shorts, mini skirts, T-shirts, flip flops and sandals and an equal number wearing tights, cardigans, fleeces and boots.Here's two approaches to looking cool on the Tube that I spotted in the last couple of days on the Northern Line.
