The Bank of England said yesterday that it is prepared to slash interest rates to 0% to save the UK economy. Bank Governor Mervyn King (pictured above) said the official cost of borrowing would be cut to ‘whatever level is necessary’ to boost confidence and stave off a long and deep recession.
