Apple’s little iPod Nano has been given a major Jobsing today at Apple’s ‘Special Event’ at its headquarters today. George Lucas has unveiled the news that there will be a full Blu-ray box-set and excitingly has aired a missing scene from Return of the Jedi that shows Luke making his lightsaber a cave on Tatooine! The Kindle is coming to the UK – it’s official! Amazon is treating us with brand spanking new versions of the ebook reader. The pair of Kindles aren’t that scary pricewise either. If you opt for the one loaded with 3G and Wi-Fi it’ll cost you £149 and the Wi-Fi only version will hit you for a reasonable £109. The free 3G connection taken care of by Vodafone and should you take your Brit Kindle (UKindle?) on a trip to foreign parts you’ll be able to instantly browse and download ebooks as long as they have 3G. It looks like the big companies are determined to make 3D a regular part of our digital lives and Sony is sprinkling the 3D fairy-dust over its Cybershot Camera range. I’ve been looking around the interwebs trying to find a better thing than killing the USB sync/charging cable that came with my new iPhone 4. Could this have been a planned marketing ploy by Apple? It seems that the new iPhone 4 is trying to weed out all those that answer calls by holding the phone in their left hand. Many reports have hit the interwebs stating that there’s a distinct drop in signal strength when Apple’s new flagship blower is held in the left hand. There has been much said about Nintendo’s 3D gaming handheld, the 3DS, and it seems to have won many over on the interweblogosphere. Orange has announced that its HD Voice service is being tested in the South of England. This new service is said to offer a huge improvement to the call quality of mobile phones and according to Orange – HD Voice is set to “herald a new era” for mobile communications.
