Sony has been showing off its Nintendo Wii baiting motion controller. They’ve also officially named it: PlayStation Move. Sony created a bit of a stir at the PlayStation presentation held at the Games Developer Conference in San Francisco. The naming of the Move may have lost a number of people money if they’d been betting on Sony naming the motion controller Arc. HTC have been busy and have unveiled a number of new mobiles at the MWC. Thing is that, in my opinion, none of them look as lovely as the HTC Legend. The body is carved from a single piece of aluminum – Mmmmm….. unibody….. I hope Apple are watching! Under that gorgeous hood purrs Android 2.1 wrapped up in HTC Sense. Apple keeps holding Flash away from its flagship phone even though it seems that Adobe keeps asking nicely to join the party. It sounds like this may change soon and with Flash comes Adobe’s 2 Million or so Flash Developers and they’re all heading towards the iPhone – whether Apple wants them or not! The next version of Adobe’s Flash developer tools, Creative Suite 5 (currently in private beta), will include a “Packager for iPhone” app which will automatically convert any Flash app into an iPhone app. So while Flash apps won’t run on the iPhone, any Flash app can easily be converted into an iPhone app. (Microsoft is taking a similar approach with Silverlight). Polaroid has confirmed its come-back with the promise of releasing a new Polaroid instant camera later this year. There’s been a campaign and the Impossible Project rallied to keep the format alive by actually buying a Polaroid Film factory and promised us a new camera this year. And here it is. The new camera will come in three colours – silver, black and faux wood and offer fans of the romanticised format to relive those glory days. A new year and Orange have revealed their latest weapon in the battle of the networks. Orange has announced that they’re bringing HD to voice calls this year. Hi Def calling is promised to make you feel like the caller is in the same room as you (good thing or not?) as well as filtering out background noise to make calling much clearer. YouTube could be increasing its web monopoly by also becoming an interactive gaming portal as well as somewhere to play 80’s music videos and clips of kittens. The recent Google  patent application for a “Web-based System for Generation of Interactive Games Based on Digital Videos,” was filed earlier this year but has only been published this month. Hot on the heels of the Google branded Nexus One smartphone comes the news that they’re going to be dishing out their own 3G enabled netbook! Apparently “multiple sources” are saying that Google has been talking to at least one hardware manufacturer about building a netbook that Google itself could sell directly. These ’sources’ claim that the big G is aiming for Christmas 2010 for the netbook’s release and that they’d be built and branded by Google and then shipped directly to consumers. iTunes LP ruffled plenty many feathers when US Indie label, Chocolate Lab, claimed Apple was keeping the new album artwork format for the majors only citing an incredible $10,000 production fee for iTunes LP. Exactly a week a go I shared some video footage of the widescreened BL40’s smaller sibling – the LG BL20. As I said before it’s a scaled-down version of the premium 21:9 handset and may only have GPRS connectivity, Bluetooth, microSD card slot, an FM radio and a 2.4 inch QVGA screen it manages to stay just 12.3mm thick even with its slide-out keyboard. Remember that binary inspired Asus Designo monitor that I was salivating over at the start of the month? Yeah that range of hi-res, quick response LCD panels that measure in at a very slender 16.5mm thin. Good news folks! The Designo range will be getting a full UK launch in a week or so and I’ve even got a price for the 23.6 inch model – £244. That matches in with the rumoured €299 price tag for the flagship Asus Designo MS monitor over in Italy. This is also great news as that should surely mean that the 20 incher and the rest of the range will be cheaper than that More as I get it!! It’s been a tad quiet out there in Microsoft Pink land seeing as the Zune has been capturing most of the headlines. But – now 9to5Mac of all places claims to have advanced word of what Microsoft Pink actually is…… Apparently Redmond HQ will be busting out a pair of smartphones, with the help of subsidiary – Danger. This also means that instead of the HTC gear that was originally hinted at the hardware will be thanks to Sharp – Both phones could be branded as “Microsoft+Sharp”. As you might expect, the two Microsoft Pink phones will take different form factors: one the “Turtle”, will be kinda like the Motorola QA1 pictured and the “Pure” will be more like a regular candybar slider. These phones are said to debut at CES in January....
