Sony PS3 Gets More Memory and PlayStation Move UK Release Date and Pricing via GadgetyNews.com August 17th, 2010 at 21:48

image Is it already a year ago since Sony used Gamescom to unveil the PS3 Slim? This year the announcement was not as ground-breaking but handy if you were looking to upgrade your console’s memory. In September there’ll be a spanky new 320GB model (which will replace the existing 250GB model) which will come bundled with Move as well as a 160GB model PS3 which will phase out the current 120GB. The 320GB will cost £299 and the 160GB for £50 less – personally I’d stump up the extra 50 notes and get my a 320gig bundled job The PlayStation Move motion controller will drop in the UK on September 15th and has a RRP of £34.99, with the PlayStation Move navigation controller pegged at £24.99. The starter pack that comprises a PlayStation Move motion...

PlayStation Move Vs Microsoft Kinect: PS Move Set to Dominate Sales in the Motion Controller Wars via UK Gadget and Tech News, Reviews and Shopping August 5th, 2010 at 14:18

As the release dates of the PlayStation Move and Xbox’s Kinect are being anxiously awaited, the question frying on everyone’s lips is, which motion controller will be more successful. Well, it looks like this question has an early answer, because after a UK survey carried out by sales website Groupola, it looks like the motion-controlled gaming wars between Sony’s PlayStation Move and Microsoft’s Kinect is showing signs for an overwhelming Sony victory in sales. The survey, which … [visit site to read more] PlayStation Move Vs Microsoft Kinect: PS Move Set to Dominate Sales in the Motion Controller Wars is a post from: UK Gadget and Tech News, Reviews and Shopping Site - Gaj-It.com...

Microsoft Kinect 19th November via Mighty Gadget Blog: The latest technology news & reviews in the UK August 3rd, 2010 at 22:41

image Lucky for us we won’t all have to change our consoles hopefully for another few years at least, but we’re going to have to change the way we play them and actually do some work…… Thanks Nintendo Wii. With Playstation’s Move controller due soon and rumours of the Microsoft answer turned into reality the Kinect all we were waiting on was the date and price.   We had the new 250GB revamped Xbox and then the announcement of a 4GB console. With that announcement Microsoft told us the Kinect will cost £129.99 on its own or bundled with the new console for £249.99 (4GB console will cost £149.99 on its own) so when bundled you’re making a saving.   Then we were waiting for the date. Well it didn’t come from Microsoft straight away, but HMV and Play.com leaked that it...

Get your game on for Playstation Move via BitterWallet July 6th, 2010 at 16:44

Two years late, Sony is jumping on board the wireless-wand-meets-family-friendly-gaming bandwagon that Nintendo’s Wii has been riding. Rather than retailing a new console, Playstation Move will be a plug-in for PS3 consoles, consisting of a motion camera and wands with multicoloured bubbles full of liquid, each of which we’re told contains a family of sea monkeys. A Japanese promo for the Playstation Move has popped up on YouTube today – it involves a young Japanese schoolgirl opening doorways and watching strangers in their living rooms playing with their wands. Cough. Will you be first in line for Playstation Move come the Autumn, or will you be hanging on for Xbox Kinect?...

E3 2010 Review via Technology Blog (UK), Hi-Tech Gadgets & Gaming - Zath! June 25th, 2010 at 18:04

While I may not be able to discuss everything, as such a feat would require a small army of journalists, I hope to be able to impart to you the low-down on some of the biggest titles and newest technology of E3 over the next few days and here’s a roundup of the events in general of this premier games show… Celebrity Gamers In Attendance Turns out celebrities love to sit down and rock some video games as well, and so Nintendo was keen to show off some big names lost in the awesome power of the 3DS. I have officially left E3 and still tired after the Move via Coolest Gadgets June 19th, 2010 at 06:55

image I’m sure that you know that I have been at E3 all week, and I got back late yesterday. Yes, I saw a lot of great things, and reported about them all week. I can honestly say that I didn’t try out the Kinect from Microsoft or the Nintendo 3DS because the lines were too long. I did stop by the Sony booth to play with the Move. Yes, that’s me in the picture, and I’m playing a game known as Kung-Fu Rider. In this game, I move the stick forward to get my transport in the game going, which is on an office chair. I won’t go into detail on that, but steering is done by moving the Move to the left or the right. This type of game playing may sound familiar to you, and yes, it is called a Wiimote. It is impossible to talk about the Move without comparing it...

PlayStation Move Gets 50′s Inspired Ray Gun via GadgetyNews.com June 18th, 2010 at 17:50

image Now, I love retro sci-fi stuff and Playstation’s Move seems cool with that vibe. The PlayStation Move shooting attachment looks so awesome!  I’m sure people would want one even if they didn’t own a Playstation The trigger of the attachment locks in with the analogue “T” trigger button of the slotted-in Move controller. The other buttons of the controller are still prodable thanks to a window cutout on the barrel. It’s sure to be a hit with games such as Time Crisis, Socom 4, and Killzone 3 when it comes out. It should cost around 14.99 euros, US$19.99 and 1480 yen (including tax) which aint that bad really is it? It’ll also look super sweet sat next to the Ray Gun Channel Zapper Who else can’t wait to get some...

Hands on with Kung-Fu Live from Virtual Air Guitar Company via Coolest Gadgets June 17th, 2010 at 00:57

image Kung-Fu Live takes action games to a whole new level as the player literally is fighting. Kung-Fu Live makes use of the Playstation Eye in order to put the player in the game environment. The setting looks like something from the eighties video game Double Dragon, as bad street thugs come after you in some back alley. In order to defeat them, you don’t use any type of “special move” or combination of buttons. All you need to do is punch, kick, or jump when they get within range. I have a video after the jump so you can see it in action for yourself. I found that playing it was quite a workout, and it was clearly the most energy-draining game since the Wii-Fit. I sort of had a hard time doing this one attack that involves spreading your hands to make an energy...

E3 2010: Day 1 Games News & Press Events Review via Technology Blog (UK), Hi-Tech Gadgets & Gaming - Zath! June 16th, 2010 at 09:18

image So here it is, the gaming judgement day of the year, E3, where every company, big or small, casual or hardcore struts their stuff for buyers, and primarily, the insatiably hungry media. I arrived in LA on Monday and thanks to an uncharacteristically cool summer day, I’ve managed to squeeze in plenty of previews, for which I will share my impressions with you now. I shall be writing each day up in the evening, and then putting together a reflective summary afterwards, along with a few interviews with developers. So here goes… Microsoft After an elaborate, and ultimately insane fanfare for Kinect (the artist formerly known as Project Natal) which utilised the unwitting media, clothing them in white and blue ponchos and shoulder pads, Microsoft showed their hand on Monday morning,...

PlayStation Move motion controller now official at E3 via Coolest Gadgets June 16th, 2010 at 03:07

image E3 is the mecca for video game news, and it is a no brainer for companies to roll out their latest and greatest efforts in glitzy press conferences to keep hardcore gamers happy. Well, Sony has upped the ante with their latest announcement of the PlayStation Move motion controller at E3 this year, bringing motion control capability to their PS3 console. It is rather ironic that they have jumped aboard the motion control bandwagon after pooh poohing Nintendo’s efforts last time when the Wii was launched, dubbing those “waggle controls”. Guess they have seen the light and realized that gaming has certainly gotten a whole lot more immersive these days with a little help from motion controls, so why not pair that feature up with stunning visuals that are only available on...

Playstation promo makes a Move on Nintendo and Microsoft via BitterWallet March 18th, 2010 at 15:30

Three years late to the party, Sony are gearing up to launch Playstation Move, a wireless, motion-controlled handset. Just like Nintendo’s Wii, then. But Sony aren’t happy taking on just Nintendo; they’re so confident their new controller is going to set the world of gaming on fire and raze it to the ground, that they’ve produced a promotional video slating both the Wii and Project Natal – Microsoft’s controller-free gaming system launching later in the year. It’s been a while since we’ve seen such a smug, self-satisfied, shit-eating grin like Keith Butler’s, so don’t be alarmed if you feel the uncontrollable urge to force your foot through the screen....

Sony PS3 Move not Arc – Motion Controlling Wand gets Named and Shown off via GadgetyNews.com March 11th, 2010 at 14:46

image Sony has been showing off its Nintendo Wii baiting motion controller. They’ve also officially named it: PlayStation Move. Sony created a bit of a stir at the PlayStation presentation held at the Games Developer Conference in San Francisco. The naming of the Move may have lost a number of people money if they’d been betting on Sony naming the motion controller Arc. The PlayStation Move requires the use of a wand-like device a bit like a rounded Wiimote, with Sony’s Eye camera used as the sensor to track your movements – Sony are bragging that it’s the ‘most precise’ and ultra-sensory device of its kind. The good thing is that the Move can be integrated into more established PS3 titles – games of choice for underling this was...

Playstation Move Announced (PS3 Motion Controller) via Technology Blog (UK), Hi-Tech Gadgets & Gaming - Zath! March 11th, 2010 at 11:59

image It’s taken a while for the official name of the Playstation 3 motion controller, ‘wand’, ‘arc’ or whatever else people wanted to call it, but Sony have released the official name for their motion controller as the ‘Playstation Move‘. The announcement was made at GDC yesterday along with a trailer of the type of games that we’ll be looking at playing to start off with. With true 1:1 motion control, it is said to be more responsive than Nintendo’s Wii Motion Plus controllers which is a bold statement. I’m looking forward to seeing just how the PS3 Move is and what kind of games will be released for it. The fact we’ll be able to play motion controlled games in HD isn’t really a major factor. What I want is a game that uses Move and to get me...
