iPhone 4G Leaked Pics or Return to Render? via GadgetyNews.com
Now leaks are one thing and, being the untrusting fellow that I am, even though I want these shots of the iPhone 4G to be real I can’t help but shout ‘render!’.
True; plenty of work has gone into this and the exposed brickwork setting is very tasteful but something isn’t sitting right.
I like the idea of a choice of colours and docks for the next gen iPhone – do we still think it will have the name of 4G? Let’s face it; who thought Stevie J would go for iPad as a name?
These ‘leaked’ shots are all in their full glory on umpcfever.com.
I hope I’m wrong but I’m just not feeling this – are you?

Video: Lenovo tablet netbook S10-3t or iPad?
What makes the newly unveiled Lenovo S10-3t comparable to the Apple iPad is that it is like the T91 which means its a netbook but is also capable of transforming into a touchscreen tablet. What makes the S10-3t tempting (at least for Windows users) is that it runs on Windows 7 and most users will be happy to stick with software that they’ve been using on their home desktop. While on the other hand, going for an iPad would mean having to adapt to a new OS and the only source of apps being the App Store. In a way the iPad is less open source. However, as you will see in the below video, the S10-3t with a swivel touchscreen gets abit too luxurious, given that it is still at the end of the day... iPad UK Launch Date: April 2010 – But How Can You Buy the iPad Earlier in the UK? via UK Gadget and Tech News, Reviews and Shopping

If you have been patiently waiting to get your hands on one of Apple’s [AAPL] shiny new tablets, The Apple iPad, then the wait is almost over as Apple will start taking pre-orders for their new device today at 8.30AM EST (5.30AM PST).
From today you will be able to pre-order a WiFi iPad which will ship on April the 3rd or a 3G iPad which will ship in late April.
The pre-orders are only in the US at the moment, there are still no details on the exact release date of the iPad for the UK and the rest of Europe.
It will be interesting to see how well the iPad does in pre-orders, will it be hugely popular and sell out straight away?

It won’t be long until the Apple iPad goes on sale, every day we are seeing more and more manufacturers releasing accessories for Apple’s new tablet, today we have a funky looking iPad case, the ModulR iPad Case.
The ModulR iPad Case is slightly different than any of the iPad cases we have seen so far, it comes with a range of interchangeable accessory attachments that are designed to help you use your iPad in different situations in every day life.
“The iPad is supposed to be a ‘go anywhere, do anything’ device,” said Josh Beatty, founder of modulR. “The modulR case and accessories help make that vision a reality by allowing you to easily and safely take the iPad into new settings, like your kitchen and the backseat of your car – places you might not feel... iPhone SDK 3.2 Beta 4 Adds New Gesture Controls To iPhone And iPad via Geeky-Gadgets
Apple has released the latest Beta version of the iPhone SDK, to developers, iPhone 3.2 SDK Beta 4. The guys over at 9 To 5 Mac have uncovered some interesting new Gesture Controls in the latest build of the iPhone SDK.
The iPhone SDK 3.2 is due to launch at the same time as the Apple iPad, and these new gesture controls are likely to be on the iPad at launch.
There are two new gesture commands in the latest SDK, which include 3TAP.plist and LongPress.plist, which suggests that Apple is going to let developers take advantage of these new gesture controls in their applications.
Apple has also removed several icons that were found in the last SDK Beta which related to video chat, so it doesn’t look like we will see the iPad launch with a video camera, this is something that will... Quirky Cloak iPad Case via Geeky-Gadgets
I wonder how many different iPad accessories will be available by the time Apple starts selling the iPad. The latest iPad accessory is the Cloak iPad case from the guys over at Quirky.
The Cloak iPad case is made from non slip rubber, and your iPad slides into the case through a top opening and it is held in place by a friction grip.
Quirky will be selling the Cloak iPad case in a variety of funky colors which include green, pink, blue, bkack and white. If you want one they are available to pre-order for $36 from Quirky.

It won’t be long before Apple’s [AAPL] new tablet goes on sale, it turns out that the iPad may not ship with exactly the same Apple applications pre-installed that are currently on the iPhone.
According to John Gruber of Daring Fireball, the iPad will not feature the Calculator, Clock, and Stocks application that are currently shipped with the iPhone.
Apparently the reason these applications will be left out of the Apple iPad is that Steve Jobs decided to ditch them as they didn’t function excatly the way he wanted them to on the iPads larger screen.
There was speculation that these applications would be available as a free download from the Apple App Store, although it now seems that this wont be the case, at least when the iPad launches, Apple may offer new versions... Penguin Books indulge in some iPad futurology via BitterWallet
You might have picked up on the fact that we’re quite excited about the impending arrival of the Apple iPad next month, but it’s easy to see why some people think that it’s nothing more than a bigger version of the iPod Touch. Sort of the same way that a bus is just like a bigger version of a car.
Fortunately, some major companies are getting ready for the advent of touch-screen tablet computing (yes, other tablets will be available) and are doing some good hard imagineering about how the new format can be best used. Here’s a glimpse into the future courtesy of Penguin Books and it shows that the iPad will be so much more than an (already-obsolete) eReader.
There’s interactive games for little people that make use of the touch-screen and motion sensor capabilities along with...
HP Slate Tablet Videos Mocks Apple’s iPad Advert via Geeky-Gadgets
HP has released two videos featuring their new HP Slate tablet, which take a bit of a stab at the recent Apple iPad advert that was shown during the 2010 Oscars.
The first video looks very similar to Apple’s iPad advert, the video features just a screen and a pair of hands using the tablet, and as you will see from the video the Apple iPad and HP Slate look like very similar devices.
The second video takes a shot at the Apple iPads features, as you can see from the video it point out the lack of support for Adobe Flash on the iPad, and HP has even highlighted this on their blog, with a post entitled ‘The HP SLate Device Runs The Complete Internet.. Including Flash‘.
There are still no details on when the HP Slate will go on sale and how much it will retail for,... iPad Delays Down To Software Problems? via Geeky-Gadgets
With the shipping date slipping for Apples new iPad most thought the delays were down to hardware supplies and manufacturing but apparently this area is all good to go. Manufactures in the Pacific have confirmed that hardware is not the problem and John Gruber at Daring Fireball claims the software has taken longer to finish than they’d hoped.
Lets hope Apple can correct these problems and not release an OS that needs large scale patching after release. Even though it is becoming common practice for companies to release software and market test issuing patches rather than correcting the issues before release.

The mythical PSP Phone as well as an iPad baiting tablet may well slip out from Sony – Well, that’s how the Wall Street Journal sees it.
Sony CEO Howard Stringer is looking towards Apple for inspiration in order to bring success back to Sony’s door.
The Japanese company is already making steps with its Sony Online Service having iTunes firmly in its sights and add that to a bunch of new mobile gadgets to use SOS – it sounds like plots are forming.
The report claims a source says that there will be a PSP-phone and an iPad style tablet that “blurs distinctions among a netbook, an e-reader and a PSP.”
These new devices will join the PSP Go and get access to SOS which will enable them access to games, music, movies and, more-than-likely, e-books.... Apple iPad UK Release Date Clarified via GadgetyNews.com
Apple has almost come up with a definite UK release date for their iPad.
Where stateside gadgety fans will be able to pounce on the new Wi-Fi tablet on April 3rd and the 3G version later the same month we in the UK will get both by the end of April.
US customers can pre-order the Wi-Fi models from 12 March, but not so for us in Blighty – we can’t pre-release purchase at all.
Apple has also said that the iBooks app and iBookstore will be available in the US on 3 April, with “additional countries added later this year”. I’m hoping that the land of the Union Flag will also be getting this, even though there’s indications to the contrary, as surely this is one of the major selling points of the iPad – or am I still confused?... It seems that in recent years, anything that Apple comes up with seems to generate a whole lot of publicity. We can’t really blame them for making good on their range of devices though, delivering quality as well as the most important of them all – a fantastic user experience which appeals to the broadest user base. Well, the iPad which was unveiled a couple of months ago certainly raised quite a furore amongst the general population, but there are also the fair share of detractors. Well, fans of the iPad will be pleased to know that the magical and revolutionary device is tipped to hit the US market on April 3rd, although this is limited to just its Wi-Fi models while others who want the high end Wi-Fi + 3G models will have to wait until the end of April. Apple [AAPL] has just announced that the WiFi model of the iPad will begin shipping in the US on April the 3rd, with preorders being taking from the 12th of March.
I have just checked Apple’s UK store online and it is still showing that the iPad will ship in March, this will probably be updated to April, as we reported earlier when we revealed the UK iPad Pricing, as our tipster had told us that shipments would begin in April instead of March.
Apple has also said that the 3G models of the iPad will also ship late on in April, so this is probably going to be the end of the Month. Prices start at $499 for the 16GB WiFi model in the US, Apple have yet to confrim UK pricing as yet, but our tipster told us that the 16GB WiFi model would go on sale in the UK for $389.

Why the collapse in online advertising might be leading you to read pretty much anything about Apple's new gizmoHey, have you heard? Apple's iPad is having production problems! And it's not having production problems! Also, it's going to cost £389! Or possibly less, or more. And in the UK the 3G version is going to be exclusively on Vodafone. As well as being on Orange and O2. Also, it's going to be released in the UK two weeks after the US, where it's being released on March 26, or actually 29th, except it's being released at the same time. And it's going to cost..OK, enough breathless murmery. Let's clear the air. There is an astonishing amount of speculation going on about Apple's iPad. Very little of it seems well-founded - or even grounded in logic. The facts about the iPad: Apple...
Penguin Publishing Apple iPad Books via Geeky-Gadgets
Since Apple [AAPL] announced the iPad, publishers have been getting their content ready to go on Apple’s new device and also their new iBooks platform. One of these companies is UK publisher Penguin, who have shown off some sample books that they will be launching on the iPad.
As you can see from the video below, the books do a lot more than standard hardback books, most of them are interactive and have a number of features.
It certainly will be interesting to see what types of different books are developed on the iPad, and I think the platform will be especially useful for children who will be able to use the interactive books for learning, as well as older students.

We suspect our avid Bitterwallet readers are too savvy to fall for some dickish Facebook (and Twitter) scam, but you’ll no doubt have plenty of friends and family who aren’t, so point them at this.
Obviously Apple doesn’t bother beta testing new products with puny earthlings, so the whole thing is a lot of old balls. If you give your details away to the scamsters – specifically, your mobile number – then you can expect to find yourself subscribed to premium rate SMS services. Nice. It looks like it’s geared towards US users only, but we’re not going to to test that theory:...
Apple iPad Able To Make Emergency Phone Calls? via Geeky-Gadgets
A function has been found in the Apple iPad SDK, which could possibly mean that you would be able to make emergency phone calls on the device. The emergency phone call function was spotted in the SDK when the pass code lock password was entered incorrectly five times.
It is not clear whether this is a function that has been left over from the iPhone OS, or if it is a function that will actually be built into the iPad, which would probably be featured in the 3G models.
The Apple iPad features everything that you would need to make a phone call, which include a speaker, microphone and a 3G connection, although the reason this feature is in there could be that the FCC require any wireless phones to have the ability to make emergency phone calls, even if the phones aren’t activated and... Where mobile meets media… via Musings of a mobile marketer
It’s a big topic. We’re led to believe that the mainstream media world is in trouble with declining advertising revenues and difficulty in matching available revenues with cost of production. And not only that, there’s a whole new world of mobile and social media out there with unclear revenue models. Where do you place your bets? Do you knock down your existing business to create the new one? Do you wait before making your move but risk missing the boat altogether. These are all questions the answers to which are still unclear. So with this in mind, I’ve pulled together a few links which may help shed some light if you’re mulling these kinds of questions over too. There’s the FT Digital Media and Broadcasting Conference which was on yesterday and today. Although I’m not...
AT&T’s CEO Thinks WiFi iPad Is The Better Than 3G iPad via Geeky-Gadgets
AT&T will be the exclusive seller of the 3G iPad in the US when it goes on sale in April. You would think that AT&T would be pushing the device and trying to get people to buy the 3G version rather than the WiFi version so they can sell them another data contract.
It seems that AT&T’s CEO, Randall Stephenson doesn’t think this way, and he recently stated the following at investor conference that was held yesterday, “My expectation is that there’s not going to be a lot of people out there looking for another subscription,” he also added that the Apple iPad would be a “Wi-Fi driven product.”
This is a somewhat strange statement from the CEO of a company that has just scored the exclusive rights to sell the 3G iPad in the US, you would... iPad Release Date: March 26 2010? via UK Gadget and Tech News, Reviews and Shopping

Whenever there is a major event you can be pretty sure a scam will follow. Apple recently announced the new iPad, a fusion of tablet computing, the iPod Touch, and mobile internet devices, and sure enough scammers have seized upon it as an opportunity to relieve of us of our hard earned cash.
The scams are appearing on a number of social media sites with Facebook members being offered the once in a lifetime opportunity to become an iPad tester (with free iPad of course) – but be wary as it actually signs you up to a premium rate mobile phone service. Twitter users, too, are being offered “Free Apple iPads” which are really veiled attempts at phishing information from you including your mobile phone number.
Remember that the iPad is not even available yet, and it’s unlikely...

iPad Dock Blank Key Waiting for Camera and Video Calls? via GadgetyNews.com
This is proof that attention to detail is a good thing.
There’s been plenty of rumours going around saying that the next version of the iPad will have at least one camera, probably for video calling, and even the existing iPad contains the necessary software.
Now, a sharp-eyed member of the Mac Rumours website has spotted that there is a blank key on Apple’s new iPad keyboard dock.
Have a look for yourself – it’s the one in the middle above the number 6 key.
Speculation is rife as to what this will become when launched.
Keeping in mind that the iPad already has a music playback button, screen brightness controls, a dedicated home button, a key to start a photo slideshow and a search key – Macduke thinks the blank button maybe for a Mac style... Apple iPad To Cost £389 In The UK via Geeky-Gadgets
Geeky Gadgets has received a tip on how much the Apple iPad will retail for when it goes on sale in the UK, The base 16GB WiFi iPad will be available for £389, the 32GB WiFi model will be available for £449 and the 64GB WiFi model will be available for £489.

Apple [AAPL] has released a new version of the iPhone and iPad SDK (Software Development Kit), iPhone OS 3.2 Beta 3, then a few hours later Apple pulled the SDK, but not before a few developers managed to download it.
The version of the iPhone OS 3.2 SDK that was downloaded contained a Photos application for testing via the iPad Simulator, and that application can automatically access camera hardware if it is present.
When Apple announced the iPad there was no built in camera, and it looks like the camera could be added to the next generation of the Apple iPad, as I doubt we will see a camera ship in the first generation iPad.
Apple probably left the camera out of the first generation iPad to keep costs down, as they wanted to sell the iPad for the lowest possible price they can, in... iPad Preorders Start on Thursday via GadgetyNews.com

The Apple [AAPL] hasn’t even gone on sale yet, and already we are stating to see some of the applications that will be available on the iPad, this one looks quite interesting, the Creston Home Automation iPad App.
The Creston Home Automation iPad App will let you control your lights, house temperature, media and even open and shut your curtains, of course you will need additional hardware for these functions.
The Creston Home Automation iPad App will turn you iPad into a full touch panel to control a range of functions around your home, and it will work in a similar way to their existing iPhone application.
It certainly would be a cool way to control everything around your home, although we suspect with the additional hardware needed it could end up being quite expensive.
