That Danny! covers Google Chrome's lack of discretion over password storage. What am I on about? Google Chrome allowing users to view ALL their saved passwords for different websites, without any credentials. Not stars nor asterisks – the whole blooming thing in plain ascii, letters, number and pet names alike! That Danny! is the blog of Danny Dagan, a Internet consultant at SAAK consulting who used to work for The Sun, where he launched the MySun portal. I've been subscribed to the blog by email for two months or so now, it's a very worthwhile...
A study by web tracker company Statcounter has found that 1% of the global browser market are using Google Chrome. The browser was only lanuched a day ago.As Statcounter sayWhile Google may have the Internet Explorer market share in its sites, the fact that many Firefox users are more “mobile” as far as browser use is concerned, may impact on the current Firefox market share. However, Mozilla are fighting back. The release of Firefox 3.1 later this year will use TraceMonkey, according to Don Reisinger of Techcrunch.com, writing in the Washington Post.Tracemonkey is intended to increase the speed of Javascript. According to Adrian Kinglsey-Hughes, who tested this, Tracemonkey is 4.8 time faster than standard Javascript. To paraphrase William Gibson, will Mozilla's Firefox 3.1 manage to...
Google’s new web browser Google Chrome has now been released, and is available to download.
I have had a few hours of playing with Google’s new browser, and I have to admit I am fairly impressed.
Installation was a breeze and it was easy to copy all my settings and bookmarks over from FireFox, the setup only took a few minutes, I suspect it would take a lot less, but I was importing a lot of data from FireFox.
The homepage which shows your most visited websites is quite useful, as standard the Chrome browser is setup to use a new tab page as the homepage, which shows you all your most visited websites, if you are like me and have a custom homepage this can be annoying, but it is very easy to change it to your custom homepage, and the good thing is that when you open a new...

I expect by now most people have heard about Google’s launch of its new web browser Google Chrome yesterday. Rather than talk about Google Chrome itself (as it has been very well covered already), I’ve taken a look at how Google are promoting this to encourage users to download and try out the new browser.
Google.com & Google.co.uk
Both Google.co.uk and Google.com have download messages on their homepages.
Google AdWords keyword bidding
Google Chrome is the top sponsored link listing for queries on both “Browser” and “Web browser”.
Google Organic SERPs
www.google.com/chrome is currently ranking at #70 for “Web Browser”, although this is currently outside the top 100 for “browser”. Both searches feature several articles...
Liking Google Chrome. Check it if you can. The download was quick and after 2 mins I was flying along with it. The rendering speed rocks, though it's not filled up with my add-on crap yet and it's probably slow down as that open source gets chipped add by 'indispensible' add-ons. I miss my spell checker but I'll live. Loved the quick, if a bit scary, import functionality. Up and running in seconds. I'm an old school Firefox die-hard, and I'll have to spend some time tinkering to see if the multi-threaded architecture is really that robust and how the Gears can be cobbled to 'enliven my browsing experience'. Blogger is a bit weird in it. Oh, and Lively doesn't seem to be supported (like anyone gives a shit anymore). Ironically, Google Analytics shows Google Chrome visitors...

It seems that even Google are getting involved in the browser market with the release of its software entitles ‘Chrome’
Available for download now, bar in mind however that it’s in Beta so you may be unlucky enough to find bugs galore or you may find it to be the smoothest browsing experience you ever had what with its integrated Google search facility built into the address bar.
But does this mean more headaches for us coders, lets hope not as it’s already a nightmare to make sites are work perfectly in IE, Firefox, Opera etc

browser war (one more time)
When I first heard of the release of Google Chrome I thought that this was probably one browser too many. When I tried it this morning (I’m writing with it now) I was really amazed at the simplicity and - above all - lightning fast display of the new Google browser. Besides, there are interesting features like window drag and drop, the ‘most visited’ page and ‘recent bookmarks’ box which are automatically updated when you open a new tab, its ‘full screen always’ mode and many others.
Above all, it’s a no frill, and incredibly quick browser, straightforward and - eventually - a really thin client. So much so that I then started to wonder whether it was really Miscrosoft who had to fear...

Google has announced it is to launch its very own open source web browser, called Google Chrome. It is designed to be fast and lightweight and is optimised for the next gen web applications that are heavy on multimedia and graphics.
A beta version of Google Chrome is being launched in 100 countries for Windows users, and Mac and Linux versions will follow shortly.
The Google Chrome browser is based on the existing webkit rendering engine, and it will integrate, tabbed browsing, Google Gears and a new search and address system called Omnibox.
Chrome will also include some of the more popular features from existing rivals. It will have a homepage of nine instant-access shortcut thumbnails, as found in Opera 9, with a sidebar of recent searches and tabs.
The tabs will be switched to...
