The new Xbox Experience is now available to download for your Xbox 360, we have just been testing it out. The download took about 3 minutes in total. As soon as the update is downloaded, there is a welcome video, which looks very good and then you are presented with a screen asking you to choose your avatar. Setting up your avatar is very similar to that of the Nintendo Wii, you can change all your features and clothes. Once you have set up your Avatar you are presented with the new menu screen. The new menu is great, very slick, it functions exactly like the old one, except it is a lot more graphical and user friendly. You’ll have to excuse my awful play on words for the title, but things lately have been a bit frustrating indeed. Not only did my PC have some trouble with Malware, but my graphics card (or so I thought, but more on that later) started to play up. As some of you may know I’ve been playing World Of Warcraft since earlier in the year and it’s all been jolly good fun. Recently they released a new patch in preparation for the new expansion pack, Wrath Of The Lich King. This patch added some funky new lighting features and what not but seemed to kill the framerate on my game. Before I was happily running between 25-70 frames per second but since the patch was released this had dropped to between 5-25 fps. The only remedy was reducing the graphics to their most basic settings,...

You will have heard of the news that Nintendo, like Sony is updating its popular handheld gaming device but with very little changes to its physical appearance. The new Nintendo DS will be called the Nintendo DSi, I suppose the most obvious feature is a slightly larger screen along with a 3 megapixel camera along with a proper SD memory card slot, other hidden features include audio enhancements including the functionality to listen to mp3s. My copy of Fallout 3 (PC) and its accompanying Strategy Guide book are on their way to me from Amazon. With a possible postal strike in the offing, I thought it best to order early for Christmas — which is when I’ll have time to play this 50+ hour game, hopefully post-patch and with a slew of mods to fix any remaining issues that it might have. And since I’ll be teaching a module on videogames in Feb 09, I just have to play it. Heh.
